Top 5 Things To Do In Islands of Adventure:

  1. The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter- Hogsmeade

This section of the park is great to visit for people of all ages, and has a wide variety of things to do. You can wander through the streets of Hogsmeade just as Harry Potter does, see a great view of Hogwarts, taste authentic British food at the Three Broomsticks, try Butterbeer, buy Harry Potter gear, watch the Ollivander’s wand show, and be amazed by the magical shows.

There are two attractions here:

  • Flight Of The Hippogriff- This kiddie coaster allows you to experience flying on the back of a hippogriff, a mythical creature from the series. It appeals mostly to kids, so if traveling with kids, this is a good ride.
  • Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey- This unforgettable ride is definitely worth its long wait. It takes you through the pages of the books, and through several scenes of the movies as well. You can experience everything Harry Potter did, from riding a broomstick in a Quidditch game to being face to face with several creatures like dementors and dragons. The line itself takes you through Hogwarts, where you can see the common rooms, the talking paintings, the classrooms, even Dumbledore’s office.
  1. Jurassic Park

In this section of the park, there are two main attractions that are definitely worth it:

  • Jurassic Park Discovery Center- In this interactive exhibit, you can see fossil and skeletal remains of dinos, along with fictional aspects from the movies, like creating dinos from DNA. You can also watch a life-sized display of a raptor hatching.
  • Jurassic Park River Adventure- This raft ride takes you through a seemingly peaceful river in an island facility set-up, similar to that in the movies. There are several harmless dinos you can see along the way. However, something goes wrong, and you end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. The ride ends in an 85-foot drop right after an encounter with a T-Rex.
  • There are two other attractions as well: Pteranodon Flyers, a kiddie coaster, and Raptor Encounter, a photo-op experience.
  1. Marvel Superhero Island

This section of the park has four main attractions:

  • The Incredible Hulk Coaster- This thrilling coaster is the largest in the park, and will send you all over the place with several drops, twists, loops, and spins.
  • Storm Force Accelatron- This spinning ride, similar to the teacup ride in Disney World will send you whirling all over the place.
  • Doom’s Fearfall- This drop-tower ride will send you shooting up a tower, and allows you to free-fall part of the way down. It gives you a great view of the park as well.
  • The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man- This 3-D motion simulator ride sends you racing through the streets of New York with Spiderman on an epic adventure.
  1. Toon Lagoon

This section of the park is great when with kids. It has many play areas where you can cool down and get wet after a long, hot day. There are several attractions. The two main ones are:

  • Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls- This roller coaster ride takes you through an old
    cartoon, and tells you a story along the way. It has several small drops, and ends with a 75-foot drop that sends you plunging into the water below. It is similar to the Splash Mountain ride in Disney World.
  • Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges- This raft ride takes you through a wild rapids river, and is sure to get you wet. Water will splash everywhere, and there are several spots where water is dumped onto your raft.
  1. The Lost Continent

In this section of the park, there are no rides, but there are several great shows, and you can experience walking through the streets of Ancient Greece, and the streets of an ancient Arabian city. You can try great Mediterranean food in this section as well. There are two shows that are definitely worth it:

  • Poseidon’s Fury- This show is thrilling, and will definitely amaze you with its special effects. It will take you deep into the heart of an Ancient Greek passage to the sea, and through an Ancient Greek temple. You will see an action-filled fight between Poseidon and a villain.
  • The Eighth Voyage Of Sindbad Stunt Show- This entertaining stunt show takes you on an adventure to find treasure with Sindbad and his assistant. It is full of thrilling stunts, and is sure to entertain you.
